The puppy came to House of Cats Ernesto in Aleppo, Syria (
The Cat Man of Aleppo founded by Mohammad Alaa Jaleel) two months ago after rescuers found him in a barrel of diesel all alone.

Despite being a cat rescue, they couldn’t leave the little one behind. “He was in very bad condition. We washed, fed and secured (him),” the rescue said.

He was frightened and tried to hide in a corner when he arrived.

The puppy was so dirty that it took many baths and a lot of effort to get him clean from head to toe.

After a lot of tender loving care and a bowl of food, he perked up and started wagging his little tail.

They named him Henry and introduced him to another rescued dog named Amira, who had lost her puppies and become a surrogate mom to several kittens at the sanctuary.

When she met little Henry, her motherly instinct kicked in and she immediately took him under her wing.

Amira’s feline friends also came to greet the puppy, welcoming him into the big family.

Henry befriended many kitties at the sanctuary. The feline residents gave the puppy snuggles and even cuddled up to him for a nap together.

“Henry and his (kitty) friends. Love and friendship have no borders,” the rescue added.

Over the following month, Henry really blossomed with a new mom and lots of kitty friends to keep him company.

No more feeling lonely and scared.

The kitties adored Henry just as much as he did them.

As more rescued dogs were coming their way, the cat sanctuary found a great solution to provide Henry, Amira and other rescued dogs a haven of their own.

“We have transferred Henry and Amira to a dog rescue. They have a swimming pool and a lot of dog friends to play with. They are very happy,” Alessandra Abidin, volunteer of the rescue group, told
Love Meow.
